The dog has now figured out that he can drag the pillows off the couch and over to his beloved soccer-ball bean bag chair that is perfectly positioned in the sun. As if he needed any more luxuries in this cushy life of his.
I got free Starbucks this morning, which almost, almost makes up for last week's debacle.
In an effort to do something OTHER than wedding planning, Adam and I made homemade salsa last night, I'm pretty impressed. It only took an hour although to be fair, there were two of us chopping. I can't imagine how long it would take with only one person. Looks pretty tasty, doesn't it?
(Sorry for the blackberry photo)
Yawn, I'm glad it's Thursday, who's with me?
Thanks for all the well wishes for my six year blogiversary! And to those who spilled their guts about their own personal caffeine addiction. It's nice to know that I'm not alone in the world!
Without further ado the winner of the $10 Starbucks Gift Card is...
::drumroll please:: Now THAT'S what Random.org is missing!
Miss Lauren from Life with a Lab (who is currently galavanting around Paris, je suis jaloux)! If you're a lab lover, you HAVE to check out her chocolate lab Dixon, adorable.
Congrats Lauren! Enjoy treating yourself to some delicious Chocolatey Frappuccinos (I personally am a fan of the Mocha Lights)! As for everyone else, stay tuned...I've got a few more giveaways coming right up!
No photos today. Why not? Well, because my mind is racing and my photos are all safely tucked away on my computer at home.
As much as I am really looking forward to the wedding, I'm more looking forward to it being over. I miss my free time. I've been sneaking in an hour of reading on my lunch break because I just don't have time to read at night anymore. Not to mention we have approx 6 hours of soccer we have to watch every night when we get home from work.
Cooking has become non-existent in our house. I can't even tell you that we have bread or eggs right now. Grocery shopping is a low priority and Wendy's is reaping the benefits of our laziness.
I've become super-absent-minded lately. Can't find anything. I even forgot where the silverware drawer was in the kitchen the other day. Of course, this too, could be a result of our lacking of cooking as of late.
I've also become quiet. I don't know if it's because I'm preparing for the massive amounts of talking that will be required of me when our two LARGE families come to visit, or if I just really don't have anything to say.
Starbucks DID have coffee today (crisis averted). So I am much more pleasant than I was yesterday. Don't forget to enter my Starbucks Gift Card Giveaway! It ends at NOON (EST) TODAY!!!!
Happy Halfway lovelies, hope the next 2.5 go quickly for you!
I didn't sleep last night. Yes, I'm 25 years old and still sometimes have nightmares. This particular one involved someone breaking into our house to take our tv. What can I say? I'm very protective of my DVR.
Little sleep translates into little functionality. Meaning there wasn't a chance I was making my own coffee this morning (Note: I got one of those awesome Cuisinart Brewers with a zillion buttons for my bridal shower. I can pretty much make it turn on and sometimes brew a few cups. I think I need to read the manual). Lucky me, we have our own Starbucks in our building.
So off I went as soon as I groggily dragged myself into work this morning. And THEIR COFFEE BREWER WAS BROKEN! Do you hear this? NATIONAL EMERGENCY! Starbucks is out of COFFEE! I just stood there in disbelief, blinking back tears. I'm pretty sure I mumbled something along the lines of, 'I don't understand...'
The poor barista guy, he's going to deal with people like me all morning.
Luckily their espresso machine was just on the verge of being fixed. So a few minutes later the nice barista handed me an Americano for my troubles. I just took it praying it had caffeine, no really knowing what an Americano is.
After some googling, I discovered that it's just espresso watered down to have the consistency of coffee. Which leads me to conclude that Americans are weenies because we can't handle the hard stuff.
I'm not a fan by any means, it was too watered down for my tastes. I like my coffee strong enough to make itself. But I suppose that in a pinch, any form of caffeine will suffice. Especially today.
And so, if you feel so inclined to give this 'Americano' drink a try for yourself, be sure to enter my Starbucks gift card GIVEAWAY! It ends tomorrow at noon, so hurry up and enter!

7. If you had a choice, would you want to be a wizard or a vampire? Harry Potter or Edward Cullen? Both have some serious pros and cons. I think I'd look good with a wand though.

In other news, amusing tweet from the US team:
@ussoccer: Team bus is being held up by an elephant crossing the road. No, that's not the start of a joke...
Love it.
Tell me, who are you rooting for? Got a favorite team? Player?
Yesterday was my last dress fitting ever. EVER. It's crazy to think. And overwhelming.
Especially when the seamstress casually mentioned that the next time I would be putting this dress on, it would be on my wedding day.
::insert jaw drop here::
What? One minute I'm twirling around on a pedestal like a little girl playing dress up, and the next minute I'm on my way to be a Missus? You mean I don't get to come back and prance around in my dress in front of a gazillion mirrors anymore?
Shucks.
The good news is that I only have to wait 21 days to wear it again. And trust me, that won't be the last time. You better believe that my FSIL, other FSIL and I are going to be pulling one of these...
...shortly after our weddings. And we won't even pretend to class it up. Football? Check. Beer? Check. Wedding dress? Checkkkkkk!
Is that popcorn they have there? Throw in some of that too. Oh, and some Doritos.
