Yes, I'm boring some days. Actually most days since my life consists of a 7-4 job, tending to the dog's every whim and squeezing in several volleyball leagues. But thus is life in Cleveland. In the winter. I cannot wait for spring to well, spring, so we can start exploring again. That and I'm so uninspired by taking photos in my apartment. I pretty much stand there and say, ok, here's what I'm wearing. I think my head looks funny from the shadows. The outdoor ones are much more fun, exciting and fresh!

And even when we get teased with a warm day (by warm, I mean 50 degrees people, wahoo!), there's still slush covering every inch of the pavement. So while running errands the other day I insisted on short sleeves (and covered with a jacket for outside) as a nod to the acceptably warm day.
What you don't see are my fuggs (from tar-jay) protecting my feet from the sludge outside. Sigh, chant with me now, out like a lamb, out like a lamb. Come on March, pull through for me here!
What you also don't know is that I dyed my hair the other night. A monthly process as my dirty blonde hair doesn't really go with those insanely black eyebrows of mine. In an effort to keep everything matchy-matchy I usually spring for a medium ash brown coloring every three or four week. This time, I tried out a different dye than my norm, the Garnier Herbashine. The verdict? IN LOVE with my hair color. Seriously. It couldn't be more perfect.
BUT, the stench, yes I said stench, of the hair dye was more than I could take. I had to wash my hair three times to get it smelling normal again. But, I love my hair color. Was it worth it?
My mother and in-laws came over for a little dinner party on Saturday. And by little I mean we attacked a 16 quart pot of beef soup and barely made a dent. So dinner was taken care of, but what to serve for dessert? In an effort to channel spring, Adam demanded that I create something with fruit. And by fruit, he meant bananas.
After googling some recipes, well, I didn't have enough ingredients on hand to create a masterpiece, so I went with mini-pieces. Using only FOUR ingredients. Brilliant.
3 bananas mashed and 2 bananas sliced
1 pkg of instant vanilla pudding, 14oz
2 cups cold milk (we use 2%)
Nilla wafers
Directions:
Combine milk and pudding mixture as directed. Add in mashed bananas and blend until smooth(ish, you'll still have some lumps). Spoon into cups (I was going to use ramekins but thought it might be pretty to see the layers so I opted for our regular old fashion glasses that we normally use for mixed drinks). Add a layer of crushed Nilla wafers followed by a layer of sliced bananas. Top with more pudding, a sprinkling of crushed wafers, a whole Nilla wafer and a slice of banana. Ta-da. Easy as 1-2-3-4.
Just pop in the fridge for a couple hours, serve and devour!
Finally, finally, updated my blogroll. Take a look, find some new reads. Let me know if I missed you (no hard feelings please! I'm flighty somedays).
Also I added a contact me page since my contact info was buried under my about me page. If you want to guest post, want me to guest post, just want to say hi, etc, feel free to use!
And pardon the dust. I'm redoing BusyGirl to be more, well, me. Cause it's a bit outdated, no? I'm leaning towards crisp white with pale blue, mustard yellow and grey accents. Thoughts?
Want to know what we did this weekend? Nothing. It was splendid.
Well, except that we concocted a 16 quart pot of beef soup and had our parents over for a little dinner party to celebrate what we hope is the last pot of soup this winter. Fingers crossed that spring is around the corner.
My grandparents celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary last week. Aren't they just so sweet looking on their wedding day?
Sigh, to be young and in love. Oh wait :)
In other, not so fabulous news, my brother and FSIL are putting one of their cats down today. She's a fabulous, fierce feline with a personality to boot. But as life will have it, her time has come. It's simply devastating. And I held my puppy all last night as tight as I could. Even though he protested.
Life has ups and downs. but its moments never fail to amaze me.
Here's to a good week, a great month and wonderful wishes to all of you. I hope March goes out like a lamb because I can't take much more snow.
