Anyone else feeling as brain dead as me today? Let's keep it light and easy, because on top of feeling 'duh', I'm also feeling 'blah'.
Taken from Kara's Chatter:
1. How old would you be if you didn’t know how old you are?
Judging from how tired I feel, probably 30-something with a couple of kids.
2. Which is worse, failing or never trying?
Never trying, because you're constantly wondering, what if, what if, if only... At least if you fail you might possibly have a semi-humorous story to share.
3. If life is so short, why do we do so many things we don’t like and like so many things we don’t do?
We have the wrong priorities. And life is somewhat restricted by your bank account. Believe me, if money weren't an issue we'd be spending all day out under the sun, walking, exploring and having life-changing conversations about nothing. And eating miniature food. Why is food always better in bite-sized portions?
4. When it’s all said and done, will you have said more than you’ve done?
I dream big, act medium, finish small. It's not that I'm a quitter, it's that there's only 24 hours in a day.
5. What is the one thing you’d most like to change about the world?
LIGHTEN UP. There's too much he said, she said. Pointed fingers. Too much exaggeration of the truth. I would like everyone to be loyal and true to themselves. Oh, and for there to be a Qdoba on every corner.
6. If happiness was the national currency, what kind of work would make you rich?
Professional explorer. Not Lewis and Clark style. More like backpacking through Europe style. I'd document everything. Exploration Photographer. Also, my dog could come with me.
7. Are you doing what you believe in, or are you settling for what you are doing?
I'm shifting, probably about 80% settled, 20% doing. This will be changing.
8. If the average human life span was 40 years, how would you live your life differently?
I'd be in more of a rush to see everything, do everything. I wouldn't let my bank account delegate what I can and cannot do.
9. To what degree have you actually controlled the course your life has taken?
The only thing I can control is myself. That portion of my course has been taken care of. The rest just kind of falls into place.
10. Are you more worried about doing things right, or doing the right things?
A year or so ago, I would say doing the right things. Till I realized that I was striving to make other people happy at a cost. Now I do things right, while realizing that others who don't abide by this, may become upset or unhappy with my decisions.
11.You’re having lunch with three people you respect and admire. They all start criticizing a close friend of yours, not knowing she is your friend. The criticism is distasteful and unjustified. What do you do?
Say that I would have to disagree with them, politely explain why and end that portion of the conversation. Let's talk about green beans, green beans are delicious.
12. If you could offer a newborn child only one piece of advice, what would it be?
Your life, while important, is no more important than anyone else's. Life will become easier when you realize this. And take time to drink tea from pretty cups. It helps you savor life.
13. Would you break the law to save a loved one?
Without a thought. Unless I had to kill an animal. I would hesitate.
14. Have you ever seen insanity where you later saw creativity?
Yes, and was thoroughly impressed with the aftermath.
15. What’s something you know you do differently than most people?
Read. I speed-read two lines at a time. While terribly efficient, sometimes information falls through the cracks in my brain.
